Rosena is an exemplar for patient-centered care and lifestyle behavior change. She has many years of service as a public health, community health, and family health care professional. She is hopelessly interactive and ideally suited for the MTAP Family Health Care Professional Program. Families will find her to be a great resource for developing family health histories and creating family networks to improve patient/provider communication. She is an OUTSTANDING health care professional!

Rosena writes of her work: “My practice and commitment to community wellness is driven by my sister's history of breast and cervical cancer, and maternal esophageal cancer that resulted in my mother’s death at age 56 and a sister‘s death at age 42 from breast cancer metastases, in the Bahamas. My father died in a diabetic coma and two of five male siblings have lived with diabetes and related kidney disease. Another brother died from compliactions of prostrate cancer in 2009. I am a healthcare professional with thirty years experience that is inclusive of nursing, social work, health education, and evaluation in acute care, community based healthcare, and educational institutions. My clinical practice has included psychiatric, emergency room, home health care, hospice, and dialysis nursing and medical social work practice in women services, oncology, and psychiatry. I have used Focus Group skills in HIV, Diabetes and Cancer research settings and therapeutic/support group facilitation skills with persons with psychiatric, breast cancer, and stroke diagnoses. VISION: My current professional endeavors are entrenched within total quality improvement in diverse wellness settings based on outcomes and process evaluation data. I hope to devise Quality Improvement training curricula for professionals and to implement research-based practice adjustments to facilitate organizational change. I am excited to be part of the MTAP family!!"
